Tibetan Buddhist Centre celebrates 2016 Vesak together with Official Centre Opening!
Vesak Day, or Buddha Day, celebrates three major events in the life of the Buddha: his birth, Enlightenment and his passing away. It is the most important festival in the Buddhist lunar calendar.
卫塞节 – 一个纪念佛陀诞生、成道觉悟及涅槃的日子，是佛历里极为重要的节日。
Buddhist festivals are a time for joy. Buddhists of all tradition make offerings in the form of food, candles lights, flowers and more. Vesak Day is a special day where Buddhist gather earnestly to pay homage to the Three Jewels, and to attend Dharma Talks.
This year, Tibetan Buddhist Centre has organized a series of merit-making and virtuous activities in the month of May as we pay homage to Lord Buddha. Join us to seed your aspirations this Vesak as we officiate the opening of Tibetan Buddhist Centre at our new premise. There will be Dharma Talks by Geshe Dorji Damdul, Meditation, Puja, Blessing, Flower & Light offerings, Bathing of Prince Siddharta and Buddha Sponsorship opportunities available on the day.
We are also honoured to have Geshe Dorji Damdul accepting our request to travel to Singapore to give us a week of Dharma Talks. Since 2005, Geshe Dorji Damdul has served as the official translator to H.H. the Dalai Lama. And now serve as the Director of Tibet House, New Delhi, Cultural Centre of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

About Geshe Dorji Damdul
Since 2005, Geshe Dorji Damdul has been serving as the official translator to H.H. the Dalai Lama. Geshela, has completed his studies from Institute of Buddhist Dialectics (IBD) in Dharamsala, Drepung Monastic University and Gyumed Tantric College. Serving as a fellow in Cambridge University, England in 2003, he was appointed as a visiting fellow at Delhi University to give lectures in three of the University’s departments – Philosophy, Psychology, and Buddhist Studies.
Presently, he is serving as the Director of Tibet House, Cultural Center of H.H. the Dalai Lama, New Delhi. He gives lectures and leads philosophy classes and meditation retreats in Tibet House, Delhi University and other venues. He also travels widely in India and abroad, to teach Buddhist philosophy and practice.
