Who We Are
Tibetan Buddhist Centre (TBC) was set up in 2006, under the advice and direction of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Since our beginning, TBC mission is centred on the following objectives
• Propagate Dharma teaching
• Promote Tibetan culture
• Uphold the unity, harmony and understanding amongst all the different sects of Buddhism.
TBC propagates pure Dharma teachings and offers a range of meaningful and beneficial activities to help people in our community. Our regular Dharma classes are taught by our Resident Teacher – Geshe Lobsang Yonten.
Every year, TBC continues to propagate Dharma teachings by officially requesting teaching from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. With great compassion, our precious Guru has agreed to our request. The Southeast Asia (SEA) His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Teaching trail has since began from 2007 till today.
As a non-profit organization, Tibetan Buddhist Centre relies heavily on the time and effort of our pool of volunteers and committee members (EXCO). We are grateful to our volunteers and EXCO who generously offer their time and skill-set to support the seamless operation of weekly classes, annual teachings, Dharma and community outreach activities, and more.
As all things are interconnected, the EXCO together with the volunteers have made it possible for the centre to spend 100% of the funds from our sponsors and donors on Dharma and community out-reach activities.
The EXCO is constantly on the look-out for a steady flow of volunteers who could help out in any capacity to support the centre’s activities (donation, skill-set volunteering, event volunteering).donation
