10th YEAR ANNIVERSARY

CELEBRATION PROGRAM

TBC was set up 10 years ago in Singapore under the careful direction and guidance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. With His Holiness’s support and blessing we have been able to be connected with the BuddhaDharma and been able to invite a steady flow of Dharma Teachers to Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand. So, come join us as we kick-start our 10th anniversary with a Birthday Celebration Lunch for His Holiness in Singapore – on his actual 81st birthday – 6 July. 6 July 2016 falls on a Wednesday and coincidentally is a Public Holiday in Singapore.

7 – 15 July – Men-Tsee-Khang – Centenary Tour

Men-Tsee-Khang formally also known as Tibetan Medical and Astro Institute, is a charitable institution based in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, India. The institute was founded by the 13th Dalai Lama, in Lhasa in 1916. This year, Men-Tsee-Khang celebrates her 100th year of establishment and we are honored to host them in their tour around the world. An exhibition of Men-Tsee-Khang will be hosted in 281 Jalan Besar, Singapore.

7 – 9 July – Chenrezig Mandala by Monks from Namgyal Monastery

Participants to His Holiness teaching in Dharamsala will be familiar with Namgyal Monastery – where the yearly Asia Teaching organised by TBC is held. As part of the 10th Year anniversary programme, an entourage of Monks from Namgyal Monastery will arrive in Singapore to construct the Chenrezig Mandala – to encourage everyone of us to generate a compassionate heart for all sentient beings. The Mandala can be described as being the residence of the respective deities and their retinues. The sand Mandala of Avalokiteshvara was originated from the tantric teachings of Lord Buddha Shakyamuni. Although depicted on a flat surface, the Mandala is actually three-dimensional, being a “divine mansion” at the center of which resides Avalokiteshvara, surrounded by the deities of his entourage. More on Chenrezig mandala can be discovered here.

11 – 15 July – Chenrezig Mandala Opens for Public Viewing!

9 – 10 July – Monlam Chenmo Day 1 & 2
