Our root Guru, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, spoke extensively about our universal responsibility towards our community, our environment, our earth, our universe. And this planet is our home, we can play a part to preserve and make it an even more delightful place for the future generation to enjoy and love. After many months of planning, we are pleased to launch the Sustainability Living pillar of our centre. And this pillar is anchored by the Tree of Life campaign, with all virtues and merits dedicated to the good health and swift fulfillment of His Holiness’s mission.

What is the #TBCTreeofLife campaign?
The 24-month 'Tree of Life' campaign is a part of TBC's Sustainability living project which is inspired by our root Guru's mission for a green and environmentally aware world. Our mission is to move towards a kinder future, where every human and living sentient being is respected and consumption becomes less excessive translating to less waste. Transforming these two actions, TBC will be bringing to you a series of workshops and educational talks advocating mindful living with our mother nature in mind. The fruition of this campaign will be planting 90 trees on His Holiness’s 90th birthday in 2024.
What is the fee for participation?
The participating fee for the educational talk is S$40/pax, which would go towards covering the workshops’ trainers’ fees and our #TBCTreeofLife 90-tree planting fund.
I am not able to attend the educational talk and eco workshops. Are there other ways to support the #TBCTreeofLife campaign?
Yes! There are four ways to support our campaign: attend educational talk and eco workshops; help us to spread and share the series of workshops; sponsor a seat in the workshop through the #greenitforward pathway; or simply start caring for the community by adopting a sustainable lifestyle!
Who will benefit from the #greenitforward pathway?
Just as everyone is free to learn the Dharma, we believe that learning to be sustainable is free for all who are keen to practice. But, the reality is not everyone is free from limitations. Therefore, the #greenitforward pathway is for anyone who has more resources to sponsor a seat. The sponsored seat will be opened to students(s) or the senior(s) amongst us to attend the session. This way, the virtues will multiply and many more will be connected to our root Guru.
